About Kari

Kari Woldum is a creative consultant, business advisor, and designer. Her work has influenced the corporate boardrooms of New York and the prairie gardens of the Midwest. She spent her formative years in California and New York, first in magazine publishing and then as a retail executive. As VP of Merchandising & Product Development at Design Within Reach/Miller Knoll she led the brand’s product direction for over a decade. As a consultant she has worked with emerging brands to examine the important role their businesses play in shaping the future of our homes and gardens. As a mentor she has guided founders and creatives towards the center of their offering (and of themselves), infusing the journey with beauty, wisdom, and warmth. A family legacy of regenerative farming (before the term existed) and native gardening drew her to naturalistic gardening, a growing part of her practice. Her studies in horticulture, energy dynamics, and biomimicry have informed a cyclical and spiralic approach to her client work. She received a BA in Journalism at the University of Colorado where her love for language and the wilderness was anchored. She is known to plant a garden wherever she goes.
